Alan,
Upon reading you post on Guin's latest episode one thing really popped out --
Guin is a remarkable 8.5 years of age -- she also has some pancreatic
problems... so, have you considered, or your vet considered that these off
again, on again episodes are related to insulinoma??? A ferret with a low
blood sugar condition, pancreatic cysts, can have a bad episode or seizure,
once through it they can pep up again -- until the next time. This may be a
point worth checking on with your vet. Insulinoma can be managed with pedia
pred. This will help keep the blood sugar levels from fluxing so. By doing
this the condition should not take such a toll on dear Guinevere. Consider
a fasting blood glucose with your vet....

This would rule out all the other bad thoughts you had and guilt that maybe
you touched something or did something to cause this condition-- it will
also give you peace of mind -- and Guin a less dramatic geriatric period.

Fondly in ferrets,
Alicia
a shelter Mom
