Denise wrote about a friend washing hands after touching a ferret; Ela
responded.
I'd have to agree with Ela there. I'm allergic, slightly, to the oils and
musk on ferrets' coats - if I don't wash my hands after handling the ferrets
I will inevitably rub my eyes and then my eyes will puff up like balloons.
It is a practical necessity for me to wash my hands after handling animals.
Same with my SO, who loves the ferrets as much as I do - his skin will
actually break out in a rash if he doesn't wash his arms and hands. His
roommate is violently allergic to ferrets and gets hives from the scratches
of their claws, which, as we all know, are kept pretty dull - so it's
probably nothing personal!
