The Triangle Ferret Lovers club of Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill, and
surrounding areas of North Carolina is meeting in Morrisville, Saturday,
October 18th from 4:30pm-6:30pm with ferrets that are non-aggressive and
up-to-date vaccinated to plan upcoming events and activities. Directions
are at our club website.
Guest Speaker is Dr. Jay Mackie of Quail Corners Animal Hospital - Millbrook
Rd, Raleigh (jointly owned by Hidden Valley AH - Lynn Rd, Raleigh).
Topic: Geriatric Care of Ferrets
Ferret Play time - 4:30-5:00pm (30 min.)
Review Club Agenda - 5:00-5:30pm (30 min.)
Guest Speaker - 5:30-6:15pm (45 min.)

I've provided Dr. Mackie with the following suggestions for his discussion.
If you would like anything else specifically addressed, email the question
and I will advise Dr. Mackie.
1. When is a ferret considered geriatric?
2. Semi-Annual tests to be performed, beginning at what age and why?
3. Special diet concerns. (Protein/Fat percentages.)
A. Hard vs. Soft food.
B. Duck Soup.
4. Arthritis.
5. Teeth cleaning.
6. Dry paw pad care.
7. Eyesight and sense of smell.
