Hi Everyone,
I have been in lurking mode for awhile but I thought I'd post about what's
been going on the last couple weeks with my ferts (Pepper M/age 5, Molly
F/age 3 and the baby Sasha F/age 6 months).

Two weeks ago I took them in for their distemper shots. Sasha was fine
afterwards but Molly and Pepper began swelling at the injection site,
Molly's was much worse. Pepper had such a reaction a couple years ago and
it took around ten months for the swelling to disappear commpletely. Until
this reaction that was the worst my kids have had. They got the shots on
monday and the swelling started the next day. Late tuesday I gave them a
homeopathic remedy, Thuja 30C. I noticed a slight decrease in the swelling
wednesday but Molly and Pep started shedding about then. They were somewhat
lethargic also. By thursday the swelling on both of them was down
significantly. But friday I noticed a small green/black stool from one of
them. I figured Sasha might have gotten into the spider plant again and
kept a close eye on all of them. Saturday Pepper and Mollly were worse,
both of them not eating much, lethargic and both having small BM's with
mucous and some black/green. Sunday I stayed home and kept watch. They
weren't getting any worse, slept most of the day. The swelling on both had
disappeared. Monday morning they woke up like their old selves. Pepper was
so energetic he was (almost literally) bouncing off the walls! They were
all playing, dooking, chattering and having a blast!

Molly and Sasha have been fine since then. Molly stopped shedding and her
coat has thickened a bit, looks normal. Pepper has been acting his usual
but he seems a bit thin, maybe because he never shed his winter coat this
year and now that he shed he just seems thinner. The thing that is worrying
me now is a skin tumor, probably a mast cell tumor. I am going to have it
removed but I wanted Pep to get over the reaction first. I will be making
an appointment next week. I am worried it might be or become cancerous.

I think the homeopathic remedy worked well. I think the BM's might have
been a side effect of the remedy's clearing their bodies of whatever was
causing the swelling. There is a homeopathic remedy for a reaction to the
rabies vaccine also. I can look it up if anyone is interested. If anyone
would care to comment, pleaase feel free.
