Howdy from Eden in Seattle,
bacula alert!
in the latest issue of Petis Propos Culinares ( a magazine for culinary
historians) there's an article on aphrodisiacs which mentions that Bavarian
peasants used to make amulets from the penus bones of pinemartens and
polecats (ugh!).
 
Unfortunately?  the author doesn't footnote her article, so I can't say if
this is even remotely accurate, so don't go harrassing any Bavarian peasants
you run into at the grocery store OK?  ;->
