Ketamine vs Isoflurane

I know of a vet. that uses isoflurane and a little bit of ketamine.  What
would be the purpose of using both?  I would assume that since isoflurane
is the safest anethetic to use that most vets would simply stick with
isoflurane and isoflurane only.  Hmmmmm.
