Hi all. I've been a lurker for quite a while now and never posted, but
decided it was about time I did. I have two sweet fuzzies, Pato, a 9 month
old sable boy, and Snowball, a 5 month old HUGE albino boy. Both are very,
very spoiled and the sweet babies of the house.

Someone asked if anyone had a ferret that could open the refrigerator.
Well, my smart Pato can. He opens it up to try to look in it, so we have to
make sure we shut it firmly or he can get in. (I don't understand why,
except to play since he won't eat people food except for raisins.) He also
opens up the patio screen door to escape. A neighbors son found him in the
field next to the complex before we knew he could do this trick. Now, the
sliding glass door stays closed when the dookers are out.

I'm also one of those weird people who kiss their ferrets on the mouth. Now
when we pick the boys up they stick their faces up in yours looking for
their kiss. Snowball did that to my Mom and she said "What the hell is he
trying to do, bite me?" She thought it was cute once she realized what he
wanted, but she wouldn't oblige him. She says she'll be Nana, but kisses
are up to us.

I also remember reading the "ferret songs" people had posted. I will admit
to stealing the little ditty about "oil and raisins" to sing to the boys.
They love it. My children and I also sing "ferrety-werreties" to the tune
of "Spiderman." I'll admit it's not creative, but we have fun. My husband
came in last night and found my 17 year old and I dancing around singing to
the ferrets, and he commented "I see the new medicine isn't agreeing with
you...." Smart aleck. Of course, the fact that he is from Mexico City and
it was delivered in a very straight manner with him sounding like Ricky
Ricardo added to the humor. I guess we did look like we had went round the
bend, but the baby boys love it.

I enjoy reading the FML every day, it sure is a spirit lifter. I hope Bob
and Elizabeth have time to post again soon, too. I really enjoy what and
how they write.

Thanks for all your information. It really is like being part of a big
family.

Dooks,

Catherine, Pato and Snowball
