Well, in my statistical sample of one male, one female, the male, Cully, is
so good at using the litterbox he actually held himself all the way from
Montreal to Boston, because there was no litterbox available. Well, there
was, but Amelia had taken it over as a bed. She, of course, showed no
compunction about using a corner of the travel carrier, but Cully wouldn't
even go when I took him outside a couple of times. As soon as I set up the
cage at my parents and put him in, he was in the litterbox with the most
comical look of relief on his little face (sure, that's easy for you to say,
he says). Amelia requries constant training reinforcement (or she'd like me
to think so, and it ends up amounting to the same thing), but Cully gets a
gold star for litterbox usage.

I find that Yesterday's News tends to smell like wet newspaper very quickly;
I've got asthma and assorted allergies, though, so maybe it bothers me more
than it would most others. I personally swear by the wood stove pellets-- I
even like them better than the wood pellets sold specifically as litter,
because the litter ones I've found have added scent. And you certainly
can't beat the price-- I told the guy at the local stove shop why I was
buying the pellets and how much they cost as litter, and his reponse was
"boy am I in the wrong business!"

Regina
and Cully and Amelia too!
