Hello everyone, Let me introduce myself. My name is Jamie and I have two
ferrets, Abby(a beautiful dark sable) and Snowflake(a gorgous silver mitt).
I have been reading the list for about a month now and just love it! I just
have a quick question. I bought Abby at a pet store when she was about 7
weeks old (sweetest thing in the world) and have never had any problems with
her eating or pooping (thank god). Two days ago, I purchased Snowflake from
a private residence that had to rid of her because she is a biter(that's a
topic for another posting :-)) The biting is not a problem for me because I
have tons of time to work with her, but I am worried about her eating or
lack thereof. My Abby eats like a pig. I have them on Iams Kitten Formula
(luckily this is the same thing that Snowflakes previous owners had her on
too). But I have yet to even see Snowflake pick a food up to hide much less
eat. The girls are exactly the same size but when you pick them up Abby
feels like she weighs a ton compared to Snowflake. Snowflake is still
pooping, though not as much as Abby, and I see her drinking water throughout
the day. She also has tons of energy and a coat as soft as a kitten. The
lack of food just really concerns me. It does not seem like the food in
there dish has gone down enough for two growing ferrets to have eaten.
Maybe I am just being paranoid(new mom syndrome). I would appreciate any
thoughts on the matter. Oh- by the way, she is current on all her shots and
had a check up this past March. Thanks alot.
