I was stunned beyond belief when I read the post from Bob yesterday. In my
heart of hearts I wanted to believe that Kodo would be rescued. I imagined
armed gunmen with ski masks breaking into the shelter and demanding that
Kodo be surrendered to them. I imagined the Vet at the shelter breaking
down and refusing to give the shot, then whisking Kodo away to a safe place.
I imagined an Angel of God causing an earthquake in the shelter and Kodo
escaping unharmed. My mind cannot get around the fact that he is really
gone. I have never cried so hard, or prayed so hard for the life of any
creature. I'm pissed off at God for not hearing the thousands of prayers
offered in behalf of Kodo. I'm even more pissed off at the state of
Michigan, hereafter named the State of Madness.

Want to hear something funny? Right before I read the post there was a huge
storm over my house. It seemed like the gods were angry. Thunder,
lightening, and hailstones were raining on my roof. My cat jumped up on my
deck with a bird in his mouth! There was a thunderclap and the bird escaped
and flew away! I thought this might be a sign that Kodo had escaped. Now I
know that the bird symbolized his soul flying away to the RainBow Bridge.

When I read the post, there was a huge clap of thunder and my computer went
dead and all the lights in my house went off.

Bob Jacobs, you are the bravest man I have ever known. You tried above and
beyond human capacity. You are to be honored for doing everything humanly
possible to save your dear Kodo. I promise that your efforts to change this
monstrous law will not be in vain. All of us that have sent faxes, letters
and e-mail to help Kodo , will not cease until this senseless law is
changed.

God Bless You!
