A couple of months or so ago an FMLer posted a URL to an SPCA site in LA
full of blatant mistruths about our ferts, including "no rabies vaccine",
"several vet/animal groups are pressing to keep them illegal", "they're
banned in six states" and a bunch of other BS. I copied the whole pile of
junk into a mail message, debunked it (politely) point by point, and sent it
to as many addresses on their site as I could find. I concluded by pointing
out that if their fert info has as many factual errors as this, can anything
else on their "ask the vet" section be trusted as accurate?
Well, I just got the following back:

The URL in question is:
http://losangeles.digitalcity.com/spcala/htmls/animal_info/vet/vet_exotic.
html
and without question, it's a huge improvement. A bit on the "dry, factual
and unbiased" side but nothing *I'd* complain about. I thanked them
profusely; with any luck the research they must have done to verify my
claims (and those of other FMLers) must have given them way more insight
into the measure. I also replied to the above and told them it was a
horrified post to the FML that pointed me to the problem in the first place,
and that I'd give a favorable review back to the FML on the corrections.
If you lack web access, I'll private EMail their new text to anyone who asks
me for it...it's a bit big for the FML.
It's a small step, but worth doing...
