Below is a statement from Bud Jackson. Kodo's publicist.

***************************

I just wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who took the time to make
phone calls, faxes, e-mails, attend rallies, etc.. I also appreciate all
the good-natured people who called me trying to give a suggestion. I
especially want to thank those who, on a moment's notice, did anything I
asked (Sharon, Lee, Ronnie, Kathy, Bob) and made my role a little easier.

Unfortunately, we lost the battle -- but the war has only begun.

From a press point of view, it's time for Bob and his family to describe the
emotional distress this government action has caused. The general public
must have the story told to them in human terms (particularly the anguish
caused by the prosecution of Kodo). It's also time the Jacobs family to re-
energize and bring back a modicum of normalcy to their lives. Although, we
are furious with some of the subsequent comments made by the lead
prosecutor, making a public spectacle at this point serves no purpose -- and
could damage our credibility in the long run.

I would imagine the next time for getting our message out to the public is
when the test of Kodo for rabies comes back "negative." Then, we should
e-mail, fax, call, speak to the press etc., about the travesty of all (Kodo,
taxpayer-funded prosecution of a family's pet, abuse of power, etc) which
has happened, when we knew the ferret did not have rabies. So, get ready I
would recommend.

Also, some of you have called me and I have been unable to speak to you. I
apologize for this; but, I was too busy doing what had to be done -- and you
would have been better listened to by a more appropriate person. If I
seemed quick, evasive, etc., I hope you didn't take it personally (it's not
easy trying to work an international publicity campaign while meeting
private clients' expectations).

Finally, now more than ever, I urge you to keep contributing to The Kodo
Fund. More national press releases will need to be sent down the road.
More importantly, more legal action looks like a strong possibility. And at
this point, it's also the best way to expose Michigan's ridiculous actions.

Please channel your efforts to helping raise money and continuing with your
grassroots efforts. And, DON'T FORGET, CALIFORNIA NEEDS YOUR CONTINUED
SUPPORT TO LEGALIZE FERRETS IN THAT STATE (I HOPE YOU CONTINUE TO RALLY FOR
THIS CAUSE ALSO).

And as far as Michigan, Kodo, and the Jacobs' family is concerned -- you did
everything you could. You were all on the side of angels, and you should
rest easy knowing that.

Once again, thank you for everything you've done on behalf of the Jacobs
family -- and a cause dear to all of you.

Best wishes,

Bud Jackson
