You mention a problematic condition with ferret odor from Flotzam and
Jetson...
 
that depends on what your definition is-- problematic odor condition to some
might be the the animals natural light musk scent-- however if you have
unaltered ferrets there may be a heavier odor for sure as the ferrets cycle
in and out of rut.
 
Then again, if you are over bathing your ferret in an effort to reduce the
odor you can actually CAUSE the ODOR problem!  For sure.  How so, each time
you shampoo, and wash the ferret you are stripping the natural oils from the
coat and skin.  So the oil glands must create more oil to replenish the
natural protection.  The more you wash, the smellier the get!!!  You will
also find that while there are tons of products on the market to spray,
scrub etc., many of them-- or overuse of them can also cause an increase in
the natural odor of your ferrets.
 
Without knowing any particulars other than odor-- I cannot give you any
pointers, however if you are washing the bedding materials weekly, keeping
the litterbox clean -- that should keep the odor at a minimum.  If you have
a real intolerance to the natural odor of the ferret you can always consider
and air cleaner / ionizer unit which will reduce the odor in the home.  Hope
