Hi,
I need anybody's help.
A ferret came into the clinic where I work today. Symptoms when came into
clinic: 6 month old male from CDC pets. Not eating or drinking for past
three days, VERY lethargic, dehydrated, passed ONE stool in over 24 hours.
Owner was force feeding water with syringe. Ferret DID take a small peice
of banana. Owner isn't sure if ferret may have eaten something or not since
it has access to daughters (messy) room.
At the clinic : we discovered a temperature of 103, ferret does not want to
eat or drink. X-rays revealed NOTHING that would suggest a blockage (no
foreign objects seen). Tummy is VERY hard. Ferret is urinating more than
normal. Ferret passed a stool, looks like there is corn in it. Ferret is
in a GREAT GREAT deal of pain, just sitting on the table it was crying.
Palpating abdomen was awful to watch.
IF ANYONE can SUGGEST ANYTHING PLEASE EMAIL ME ASAP!!
The ferret didn't look too good by the time I left work!!
