Loki used to hiccup every now and then just like you described, but I could
never ever hear her no matter how close I listened (she was quite suspicious
of my motives when I had my ear to her side...<g>).  It seemed almost as if
they startled her because she would stop whatever she was doing and just
stand there until she stopped.
