LETTER WRITING TIME...
Linda Harrah (Ferret Sense in Ohio) notified STAR* the first week of March
of the following:
Shering Plough Corporation has bought out Solvay and considers GALAXY - D an
"Orphan Drug". This means that they will continue to produce the 1 ml
canine distemper vaccine for a while longer, but if it does not prove a big
seller, will be dropped altogether. They have no intention to get it USDA
approved for use in ferrets.
If dropped, this will mean that the only sole canine distemper vaccine on
the market will be United's FERVAC - D. OR... shelters will have to use
combination vaccines.
WRITE to express your concerns and desire to keep GALAXY - D alive, and
encourage them to get it licensed for use in ferrets.
