Hello my name is Bethany and I live in Australia and am I am new to the FML
so please excuse and inform me if my etiquette is wrong. I Run a shelter
for ferrets and am lover of ferrets. At present I have 27 beautiful carpet
sharks.
They all have names and personalities that are very distinct though I would
not say color affects their personality although sex and altered state does.
I was curious to know about the olive oil discussion as this is a vegetable
oil and thus unwise for ferrets and also may act as a laxative?
To the person with a ferret in heat that need a "whole" male. I use desexed
males which have had at least one season being undesexed and these have not
failed to bring a jill out of heat so a late altered male may be a good bet,
though getting her 'fixed' is probably a safer course.
To the frequent comments that ferret cannot climb(like a cat or like a
gecko?)someone should tell M'irim an altered albino female of some 2 years
who acts just like a cat including going straight up trees and curtains.
Ferrets cannot climb????
As to the vegetable matter in things they kill. My ferret are raters they
do a marvelous job in the hay shed and all they leave me is a few shreds of
skin whether they need this vegetable matter I could not say though being
true obligated carnivore not ominvores, I would suspect not.
