Folks-

A ferret in heat can be spayed. My vet, probably the most respected ferret
vet in Michigan, did this proceedure on my Wendy Weezle 2 years ago. She
started her first heat at 4 mos. of age. Vets used to never spay an animal
in heat because of the problem with bleeding caused by the blood engorged
uterus. With modern veterinary practice this is less of a problem. You
need to find a vet who is comfortable with the proceedure.
