Arthur, the guy who bought the male dark eyed white kit from our last
litter, rang me up a couple of nights ago with a question. He wants to get
a fifteen month old dark eyed white female as mate for Snoopy, but had been
told that breeding DEWs to DEWs was not a good idea as the kits from such a
union turned out to be agressive.

I told him I hadn't heard of that as a problem, but I know there can be
problems like deafness in pairing some colours. I know there is a problem
with blazes and pandas, but I can't remember if DEWs are a problem.

So the question is: are there any known genetic faults that can be
reinforced by breeding DEWs together?

I am interested in the answer to this too, as we are thinking of
specialising in DEWs if we continue breeding, and our next step would be to
find a DEW stud for Pepper, Snoopy's mother.

I have posted this on the Ferret Forum as well.

Thanks,
Kylie
