Hello,

I have been on the list for only a week, but I am glad I'm here. We're
about to get our first fuzzies within the next week. Right now we're in the
process of preparing the house and the ferret supplies we just got. The
kids enjoy the ferret stories tremendously, and I'm hoping they're keeping
some of the ferret antics in mind so they're more prepared as well. Me too,
for that matter.

I have two questions, one that I've been thinking about for a little while,
and one that occured to me tonight.

1. I live in NE Georgia and am wondering if anyone knows of a ferret
specialist in the area. NE Atlanta, Norcross, Duluth, Stone Mountain,
Snellville... hmmm, Roswell or Alpharetta too... anywhere in this area.

2. This occured to me after I found the corpse of what I think is a brown
recluse spider. I know ferrets have tough skin, but are they just as
susceptible to spider bites and such? So far, my children and I are lucky
not to have been bitten, but this is about the third one we've found (and he
was a whopper! With his legs extended, about 2" in diameter at the most).
We've also smooshed a couple of what I suspect are wolf spiders too. I
don't know for sure and won't till I get hold of my mom's bug book.

Anyway, advice and any help would be greatly appreciated, especially to the
latter question as I am beginning to suspect I am living under or next to a
giant spider nest.

Thanks in advance, and I hope to be sharing our stories soon. :)
