OK, this is kind of strange, but here goes. My 5 month old (3.5 lb) boy,
Worf does something I find a bit strange and sometimes a bit unnerving.
When he drinks from the water bottle he doesn't just lick it, he puts the
whole thing in his mouth sort of like it was a straw and then licks and
seems to inhale at the same time. You can hear him sucking in air around
the water, and then he'll hack and gag like he inhaled some of the water.
He also does this when he eats; It sounds like someone with a stuffed up
nose eating something crunchy, like corn nuts, and breathing through their
mouth while chewing. Worf has never acted sick, in fact he goes just about
non stop, and doesn't have any trouble breathing. It's just that he seems
top "mouth breath" while eating & drinking. He's been to the vet three
times for his Fervac-D shots and been examined with no problems found. SO,
the big question is..... Is he just weird, or what?? Has anyone else had a
ferret that does this?
I'd also like some input on his color. His undercoat is WHITE, his legs and
tail are jet black (blue & violet highlights) his guard hairs are black on
his back & shoulders (looks almost like a silver if you just see his back),
and kind of light taupe/pinkish-tan on his sides, and around his face, and
his mask is a little darker shade of taupe. Worf also has a couple of white
spots on his throat/chest, and a white spot on the bottom of one front foot
at the base of the middle toe. Is there such a thing as a "Black
Point/Siamese" or does the light mask rule that out?
Any and ALL input on either of these subjects is welcome.
