I don't know where you live, but if you are willing to travel (I'm guessing
approx. a 4 hour drive depending on exactly where you are in NJ/NY) a very
experienced ferret specialist does adrenals in Potomac, MD for about $250. -
$300.  That's less than half of $800. of course!  I take all my "kids" there
for specialty care, & he really knows his stuff when it comes to ferrets.  I
trust him implicitly with my own ferrets & with the rescues under my care.
He's one of the best, & I've dealt with alot of vets in the last nine years.
