Last night Worf was doing his usual "recon" of the living room, which
includes checking things out from the underside. All of a sudden, he
bounded out from under my Mom's foot stool dooking out LOUD and pouncing up
& down. As he made another dive I could see that he was attacking this
Big-Ole-Ugly-Black-Widow- Looking-SPIDER!! I Shrieked at him and bounced
off the couch, afraid that he would get bitten ( it was Sunday night & It
would be HELL trying to find my vet). Then he got a good grip on it with
his mouth, and really went crazy; flopping and dooking in a really high
pitched voice. I was half hysterical, and grabbed him up to get the spider
away, I didn't care if I got bit (by either Worf OR the spider).... My baby
was in trouble!! As I grabbed the spider away from him, Worf went totally
still and just stared at me. I just knew he was dying!! That is, until I
realized that the Big-ole-ugly-black-widow-looking- spider was PLASTIC!! It
was one of those Halloween jobbies that come with the stretchy "web", but
looks REAL. Of course Worf just thought I was out to ruin his fun, or that
I was nuts. What can I say??
