Dear Artemis,
I am sorry you had a bad experience with the FML. Some of us still on here
have had bad experiences, too. However, the really good experiences make it
worth while. I think that in any large group (the FML has over 2,000
subscribers, right, BIG?) there are bound to be thoughtless, cruel, and
downright trouble-making individuals who have nothing better to do than rush
to flame someone. Unfortunately, this type of person is the one you hear
about most. The nice, helpful, caring people out there are quieter and less
likely to speak up and be supportive. But they are in the majority, I
think, and the flamers are in the (noisy) minority. That's why I try to
speak up when something good can be acknowledged, praised, or supported. So
don't let the bad guys get you down. Try to ignore them and move on, and
the more you read on the FML, the more you'll figure out who the good guys
are. You were only looking for help, and on something that already
happened. It's pretty mean for people to give you a hard time after the
fact. I hope you are able to get the help you need.

Kat (the other Kat, Kat K.)
