Whatever color that goes into the ferret is usually the color that poops
out...
*** Juvenile Lympho
>Mugsy is only about 9 months old and is the little one who came into Troy
>Lynn's with ECE and passed it to everyone. The doctor seems to think it is
>possible that this is what depressed his immune system enough to make him
>susceptible to the lymphosarcoma. Any ideas about this?
If it is juvenile Lympho, by the time Troy Lynn reads this, Mugsy will
probably be on his way to the rainbow bridge. ECE didn't cause it, but
whoever the breeder was that this ferret came from, should have this cancer
reported and maybe even investigated - juvenile lympho is hereditary...
*** Ferret foods
>In all of the food debates I have never heard anyone mention "KAYTEE
>Forti-diet". This is by far the most popular ferret food sold in this
>area. How is it compared to other ferret foods?<<
The Ferret Food Comparison Chart is up on Ferret World
http://ferret-world.csc.peachnet.edu/STAR/foodchart.html
and there are over 25 different dry foods to review. They are ranked by
protein and fat contents, not by preference.
*** Rescue ferret soon to need home
Can't stop rescuing ferrets here... I was at Fairfax County Animal shelter
this past weekend and heard they had a ferret dropped off - I asked the new
Director of Animal Control if I could take it home and now I have a
delightful, approximately 4 year old, non-Marshall Farm, silver/BEW, male
ferret who will be looking for a new home around Christmas time. He is
presently naked and is scheduled for adrenal surgery December 2. My guess
is the owner was daunted by the nakedness and/or the cost of surgery and
dumped the ferret at the pound.
Can't speak for ECE exposure, the adoption fee will not touch half of the
surgery fee (I am NOT looking for donations BTW), and hope someone in the
VA/MD area would like to give this buddy a new home for the new year.
