Of the two ferrets with the weakness high temp and normal eating - pooping
did either one have a blood test for glucose at least and maybe other blood
chemistry. Our Rambo had this condition and the glucose was normal but had
low electrolytes- calcium, phosphorus, and potassium. The vet did not know
what it was but gave antibiotics , potassium supplement, and pet tinic(pet
vitamin supplement with iron) for Rambo was also enemic. After about one
week we cannot see any difference from the old Rambo other than some large
shaved areas. We are still giving the supplements.

On the subject of illnesses another of our fbs Bobo had some other problems
which we believe stemmed from adrenal cancer. It involved urinary blockage
which has hopefully passed but now he has hair loss(none prior to
surgeries). At first I thought the losses were due to trauma around the
areas of IV feeding and shots. Now they are not just there. Back to vet
who took samples for culturing after a negative on Woods lamp test(ring
worm). No news yet but it should be a few more days before the culture
takes. In the meantime the prescription is medicated shampoo which is to be
left on for 5 to 10 min. If we can keep it on for milli seconds we will be
lucky. I asked the vet how to do this and he just smirked. Oh well the
first attempt is due in a matter of minutes. Wish me luck.
