Just a reminder note to all you in Ferret country about the upcoming shelter
fundraiser "Friends & Ferrets Walk '97.  Scheduled for 9 AM- 2PM June 21st
in Keene, NH.
 
Due to the recent Michigan tragedy and the apparent need to fund rabies
shedding to convince the health and political factions-- Ferret Wise Shelter
has decided to do the following:
 
Those in attendance, who are not registered walkers, will be asked to donate
a $2 per person donation to access the vendor, chinese auction, ask the vet,
etc.  Of this Ferret Wise Shelter will forward 50% of all admission
donations to the Morris Animal Foundation specifically earmarked for the
ferret rabies shedding studies program (the remainder of these proceeds will
help us sponsor more low cost rabies vaccination clinics for ferrets).  We
are happy to do this and hope it will provide an end to the hostile attitude
towards domestic ferrets by unknowing officials.  There will also be a
bucket for direct contributions for the MAF studies for those who would like
to donate at this event.
 
Please join us as we celebrate the companion shelter and show support for
the following ferret shelters & organizations : Ferret Services of Freedom,
Ferret Assoc. of CT, Ferret Wise Shelter, FFUNY - Ferret Friends of Upstate
NY.
 
There is a huge Chinese Auction table ( drawings start at 1:15 PM), raffle
of a beautiful chinese turquoise and freshwater pearl necklace, bracelet and
coordinated earrings, micro chip clinic ( 12 noon -2PM) for ferrets, dogs
and cats, ask the vet (10-12 noon), top fundraiser award presentation at
1PM, door prizes drawn throughout event, and most of all a wonderful walk
for everyone through natural landscaped preserves.
