I've been in lurk mode for awhile but I'm ready to jump back into it now.
I've noticed quite a few posts concerning ECE in Yesterday's FML so I
thought I would mention that our club Vet wrote an article concerning it for
our Club.  you can check it out at the URL below .  It's in the Fall 96
section.
 
On a sadder note, one of our Fredonia fuzzies had an hypoglycemic episode
last Saturday.  Persephone is a 2 yr.  old albino that doesn't take anything
thing off anybody except for Bullwinkle.  For some reson she lets Bullwinkle
get away with anything, such as dragging her around the room by the neck.
She only weighs 1.1 lb but she will chase our 18lb tub of lard siamese cat
around.  She is also the one that rode in my wife's coat sleeve all the way
back from Kansas a 13 hr trip.Anyway she was having a insulinomic seizure
(episode) so we took her into the emergency vet that's about 5 min away.
Her Blood Glucose was under 40 and she did respond to an IV of dextrose.  So
it appears we now have two ferrets with insulinoma.We are going to wait and
see how she does if she has more seizures it will mean surgery.  So please
keep her in your thoughts and prayers.
