> Personnaly I think they do pant...
only when it gets exceptionally hot do mine seem to care (85-90+ degrees)
and then, they find a flat, non-carpeted surface and stretch out on it,
spread-eagled. every part of their body, from their chins to their toes and
tail, is in contact with the surface. Usually this is the linoleum in their
cage, which is set off the floor so it's cooled by air moving underneath.
Potpie also likes the marble floor inset by our wood stove, because the
marble is very cool in the summer. So, they look like little ferret throw
rugs :). Potpie also splashes water all over her cage and lays in that,
sometimes. I have never seen mine pant (the way even cats will), and MI
gets pretty steamy in the summers.
