If you are following the situation in Texas involving a so-called "breeder"
and the authorities who have been called in to shut him down...

We don't have any new word as of this writing from Animal Control or the
authorities about the "breeder" situation locally. In cases like this,
where the police, DA, Courts or other officials are involved, Animal Control
may be prohibited from releasing the animals to us for care. The Animal
Control personnel *want* us to take the ferrets, but I don't know for sure
whether the *law* will allow us to.

Another possible problem is this could take some time for the courts to make
a decision at all about the animals. Animal Control may be required to take
them initially, then wait for the courts to say it is okay for them to
transfer the ferrets to our shelter until the entire case is settled.

If you want to help the shelter in the event that we end up with these
'kids' (and I certainly am hoping we DO), go ahead and send you email
address. Please hold off on sending stuff for these ferrets. I would hate
to take donations or help under 'false circumstances', so I will simply put
your name on our list and keep you posted as things develop here. We need
and would love your help if/when we are allowed to take these ferrets into
our care.

Please feel free to keep in touch with me via email. For future use, my
address is Ferrets First Rescue & Shelter 3801 Zion Hill Loop Weatherford,
TX 76088.

Thanks so much for your concern about these poor neglected kids. I just
hope the officials can lock up the breeder and will turn the ferrets over to
us.

Kisses to your fuzzies.
