Litter: I was wondering if any of you out there who have switched to the
wood pellets for litter also have cats who use the litter. Is wood pellets
a good choice for ferret only homes but not homes with cats? What do you
with cats use? Do your ferrets have their own litter boxes?
Shows: I don't want to add fuel to the fire but I can relate similar
experiences to Trish's. My first ferret show (I dont show, just attend and
BUY) was both really exciting: Look at the cool stuff! Look at all the cute
ferrets! and disappointing: these little table are where they show? This
is it? I think its just that you get used to seeing large cat and dog shows
on TV with a big ring etc. I have been to three shows now and they were all
similar in size, number of ferrets and stuff sold. So now I'm not
surprised. I will pass on a comment by my sister and a co-worker who
attended the last show with me - neither of who have ferrets. My sister
said if the judges handled her that way she would surely bite the way they
squeeze them and handle them. I was paying no attention to judging and
never have so I have no comment myself - I shop and look at ferrets and
watch the fun matches. This is not a flame - just what some people see when
they watch judging for the first time. I really think that people are
overreacting when they say they've been accused of animal abuse. Partly
it's an initial surprise thing when you see judging for the first time.
Linnea - I got your post about getting confused on your ferrets smell with
so many different opinions and what to do about it - I tried to reply but my
message came back. Have your parents call Erin at SuperPetz and talk to
her - she is very ferret knowledgeable and maybe they will listen to a pet
store employee (where did you buy your ferret anyway?) I will try to reply
to you personally again. Hope you still have my number if you need. But
the key is dont bathe, clean bedding, clean litter!

And a SAFE and HAPPY HOLIDAY!
