Laura -
If Simon's eating 1/3 cup of food a day, he's doing *fine*. Lordy, that's a
healthy appetite. However, you mentioned wetting down his food - you can
slowly wean him off wet food (and you should) by tapering off the amount of
time you soak his food. ie, if you soak his food for 1/2 hr before giving
it to him now, soak it 25 minutes tomorrow and the day after, then 20
minutes for the next two days, etc.
The eventual goal is to be able to leave a bowl full of dry food out and
available for him at all times. He'll eat whenever he wants to.
Also, mine don't eat every three hours on the nose. Sometimes they don't
eat for five, six, or seven. It all depends on how much they sleep and
play. Potpie will wake up, come out for two hours, and go sleep for several
more before eating. The important thing is, ALWAYS have food available -
but just because we do doesnt mean they'll eat it as they're supposed to. :)
