Well Hody Folks.
 
I've decided to step into the light after watching the posts the past few
weeks since i joined the list.  I'm currently trying to organize a shelter
network for Southeast Alaska and also there is a young lady here in Juneau,
that would like to annouce her plans for a local Ferret Club.  Any
information on AFA and other misc stuff would be greatly appreciatted in her
organizing Efforts.  Also, if there are any Alaskan Ferret owners on the
list please introduce yourselves I very eager to help my friend Shawna get
her club going.
 
At this time there are two shelter programs in Alaska that I know of.  The
first is in Anachorage, and it is sponsered by a local vet who helps the
animal shelter's load by temporarly adopting ferrets untill a new owner or
exisitng lost owner is found.  The secon is in Fairbanks.  It is run by
wonderful woman and her son, who also adopt stray cats and dogs along with
various exotics.  I'm hoping to get a program set up in southeast Alaska
soon.  I'm currently attending school at the local University so I'm kept a
bit busy but I still wish to be able to set aside some time for the program.
I'm calling it a shelter network because I personally would not be able to
handle too many new animal.  But I'm looking for individuals to serve as
foster parents, and working with a local vet to provide short term care
until the ferret is adopted.  If anybody has ideas, please feel free to
write me.
 
Now to finally brag about my three little Angels/Devils.  They are all your
typical ferrets curious, annoying, loveable, comic, and perplexing.  I find
it hard to try and understand their motivation in their lives.  Do they live
for Raisins, or sock thievery.  Are they always looking around because they
think there a raisins under the couch or dresser?  Hmmmmmmm What would Freud
say about the Psycology of a ferret?  Are they really superior intellectual
beings?
 
A friend of mine had adopted an Albinao male who of course managet to get
into eveything (big surprise huh?).  Well, one day he called me up panicking
because the ferret was excreting white runny feces all over the bathroom.
We thought it was dying, except it seemed happy and playful the whole time.
He made an appointment to see the vet that afternoon.  But just before the
vet appointment, he noticed the white or clearish stuff was also dribbled
around the cabinet door under his bathroom sink.  After further inspection
he found a open jar of vaseline with a few paw marks digging into it.
Evidently the vaseline didn't hurt the poor guy but it sured made things run
smooth for a little while.

Remember if there is any one in Alaska with a  Ferret Fetish or Math problem
give me a buzz.

                 I'll love him and pet him treat him as my own.
Sadie: Tigger that is stuffed mouse you twit.
Annie:  Ha! another plot by the evil human conspiracy to suck out our brains.
Tigger: Ahhhh shucks sadie I iz   jus pwayin with it.  I did n men na hurm.
Annie:  Quick Tigger grab their socks before they can attack.
Sadie:  Mommy why must I live with these commen dooks.
