I got a call early this morning that the clinic where we take our ferrets
was in need of a blood donor. Seems they had a ferret there that was dying
from flea bite induced anemia.
I quick scooped up Beasley, our healthy little two year old, and raced to
the clinic. Unfortunately, the other ferret died as blood was being drawn
from Beasley. Too anemic for too long was the cause.
Damn, it makes me so mad to see a senseless death like this. It's bad
enough to lose one of these guys to some unavoidable disease, but fleas?
I wish I had only gotten the call a little sooner, or lived 2 minutes
instead of 15 minutes from the clinic. I feel rotten that Beasley and I
were unable to provide the needed help in time. dammit, dammit, dammit.
We tried Beeze, we tried.
For the ferrets,
Mike
