We had Chloe and Buddy to the vet last night. The vet was concerned about
Chloe's teeth and wants to do a cleaning. However, we can't do this right
now as she's not well and may need surgery. Her vulva is swollen and the
vet suspects either an adrenal tumour or a piece of ovary not removed when
she was fixed which is now releasing hormones and making her go into heat.
We want to get this problem cleared up before considering putting under to
clean her teeth.
The vet suggested that I try to do what I can by scraping away the tarter
with my nail and using a tooth-brush.
Has anyone had any experience with this, and if so, what did you do and how
did it go?
We're trying to switch them over onto ferret food (they're eating cat food
now) and are hoping this will help a bit. Buddy has no problem with this
(he eats anything, we should have called him 'Hoover'), but Chloe is going
to take a lot longer, so I'd like to get going on the teeth cleaning as soon
as possible.
