One of my little girls, Sabina, is losing a lot of weight and I am getting
concerned. She is a black eyed white that is 2 1/2 to 3 yrs old (we adopted
her) and a MF ferret. She normally weights about 2lbs and always goes
through a period of losing weight and shedding with the seasons. This year
she seems to be losing more weight than usual. She is still eating normally
and is as active as usual. When should I get concerned?
The only other thing going on with her that i am also concerned about is
that one of her "toes" is swollen. It is her first toe on her front right
paw. I noticed that is was about 2-3x normal size about a month ago and
took her to the vet. He thought she might of gotten bit by her sister when
playing because there is a small round sore on this toe. The sore doesn't
look like a bite though. It is smooth, dark red and almost shiny. The vet
gave her a course of antibiotics but this didn't help. It doesn't seem to
be sore, but I feel like I should do something more.
Any suggestions?
