Our crew loves the outdoors. We have a screen porch that is suitably
ferret-proofed and they spend most of their warm weather play time out
there. Troy Lynn, built an outdoor cage for hers and says that they love
it. Just make sure that they can't dig out the bottom.

We adopted several ferrets to a great couple in central NH. He lives out in
a very rural area and has lots of land. He made an underground tunnel
system out of PVC and has it connected to above ground "houses", complete
with roofs and screen and bedding, at various locations around his property.
One leg of the tunnels goes down to a pond, where he has another cage so
that they can swim. Another leg goes up to his log cabin and ends up inside
at a window looking out on a bird feeder, where the ferrets love to watch
the birds. When it gets too cold, they have a large playpen with all of
their toys and bedding.
