Today (Oct.  4) is the birthday of Francis of Assisi.  You don't have to be
'religious' to honor St. Francis, who had a deep love of nature.  Francis
also had the ability to communicate with animals, a lost art that is
fortunately being rediscovered by many people.  There's a great animal
