First of all, I have to express my admiration and appreciation to BIG for
his dedication to the FML.  To take the time to do all the work involved in
editing, etc. is remarkable - and deserving of accolades!
 
Next, I'd like to say a big hello to FML-ers...along with many dooks, kisses
and nose-nibbles from Oliver, my 10-month old Siamese Sable hob).  I'm a new
subscriber (just a week!) and have already learned a whole bunch'o info.  I
sense a real kinship amongst FMLers and already am beginning to feel like
part of the "family" :)
 
Now, some questions!  Oliver is my first foray into ferretland.  We live in
Newfoundland, Canada.  There are not alot of ferret owners (no local club
that I've been able to discover) here to share ferret stories with.  My
ferret knowledge comes from book-learnin' and the schooling Oliver has been
gracious enough to give me.  He's actually quite a willing teacher.  (grin).
I've truly been bitten by the ferret bug (figurative sense... mostly!) I
just love Ollie to death.
 
RE: FERRETONE - Has anyone noticed a decrease in the energy level of their
ferret(s) while using Ferretone or Linetone?  I was giving a squirt a day
(can't remember the brand) and noticed Oliver sleeping a lot more - seemed
to have less energy in play.  I took him off it and a month later tried
again with same results.  I was following dosage directions - maybe too
much?  Or maybe he just doesn't tolerate it?  Very healthy otherwise.
 
RE: AVERAGE SIZE & WEIGHT - Maybe someone can clear this up for me... When
out with Oliver, I've had people say, "What a huge ferret!" And others have
his size was average or small ---???  What *IS* the average size for a
mature male ferret?
 
RE: ONE LAST NIPPING SPOT!  - Oliver is a model fert in every respect except
for his last "holdout".  About once every couple of weeks, he can't seem to
resist the urge to dig into the crease of my arm (blood test location).  He
used to go for the spot behind the knee but hardly does that at all now.
Anyone else notice this?  He knows not to bite hard when we're playing and
with the slightest wince from me, he'll stop.  When I catch him going for
"the spot," and say NO!, he'll stop.  Sometimes he surprises me (and other
people - recently a sleeping friend - ouch!) I have heard from an FMLer who
says her 4-year-old female still cannot resist the urge.  Suggestions
anyone?
