Hi Shua, et.al.;
 
I use the pads called "bed pads" that are the same absorbant material with
plastic backing, and they have no odor or scent added vs.  the doggie
training pads you mention.  These are made by the Depends company and others
as well.  There are also "chair liners", half the size of the bed liners.
It makes clean up very much easier!
