Just something that may have been lost in all the debate over ferret
shelters "buying" ferrets from local municipal facilities to later adopt
them out for adoption fees: In some states or localities in the U.S. and
other countries, the local "dog pound" will only hold on to stray animals
for a short amount of time before destroying the animal. If a ferret
shelter "buys" any animal from the pound to save its life, and not only from
appalling conditions, then it should indeed be called a "rescue." For all of
the shelter operators out there, keep up the good work.
