Snoring - Both Boomer and Bongo snore.  Boomer sort of whistles and wheezes,
like a dishwasher, and Bongo even dooks and squeaks in her sleep (dreams of
ping-pong balls dancing in her head?).
 
Apartment showings - Our building doesn't 'allow' pets either.  What we did
when someone wanted to see our old apartment was to first make it clear that
we wanted to be notified before they showed it.  (I don't know about where
you live, but I work for a leasing company, and we're required to give
warning.) Go to an appliance or grocery store, and get a cardboard box big
enough to cover their cage.  Cut the bottom out of it, and tape the top
shut.  When someone comes to look at the apartment, just put the ferts in
the cage, and put the box over it.  And pray they'll be quiet!  Some treats
and a loud radio help with that.
 
Trucks - Our ferrets love to play truck, too, but we use empty kleenex boxes
(with the plastic ripped off, of course).  They love it - especially when we
have two boxes and play 'crash 'em up derby', or have races.  Boomer will
sit in his box (they each have their own - no idea how they decided this)
for up to half an hour, waiting for someone to come push him around.  This
is also fun in the snow - ferret sleds!
 
Food - Someone posted something about kitten food not being appropriate for
older ferrets.  Bongo is three, and Boomer just turned one.  We give them
Iams kitten food.  We tried the MF food, and they liked it, but it's so
soft - their teeth were green and mossy!  Not to mention MF food is pretty
spendy, twice the cost of Iams.  They both eat well, have healthy coats, are
both squirrely and active, and both checked out well at the vet's.  (THANK
YOU to whoever recommended Dr. Treat in Fargo.  We liked him and the ferts
loved him!) They get Linatone as a treat on a regular basis.  So, my
question is, are they getting the nutrition they need?  Or should we feed
them something else?  I'm not sure, but I think MF is the only ferret food
available around here, although we may be able to order something through
the pet store.  Thanks in advance for your answers!
