Hello again:
I must say, this list gets a hell of a lot of traffic! Much more than my
Marine Pests group ;-). Anyway, about a dozen of you people replied very
promptly to my post regarding ferrets as pets, and where I could get
information concerning them. I would like to thank you all for your
suggestions regarding literature (both virtual and archaic -- read: paper)
that I should read in order to learn more about these little critters. I
would also like to thank and commend everyone who cautioned me to be
careful. I know how bad the pet "industry" can be, and how many animals are
cruelly treated throughout their lives by uninformed and uncaring
individuals. I can assure you that _if_ I decide to bring a ferret into my
home, it will be properly and lovingly cared for, and I will not do anything
until I feel comfortable with my understanding of what a fuzzy will need and
want.
Again, thank you all, and keep up the good work. It's comforting in this
flame-pit we call the internet that such caring people are out there,
supporting one another and doing their best to protect animals from abuse.
