Hello to all in ferret land! I have returned from about 4 months of
deployment back to Vicenza Italy. I must thank all who sent messages to me
about my ferret quest here. Unfortunatly my laptop HD is having a nervous
breakdown. All of my previous email is unaccesable. Help!
I was contacted by a couple from a military post in Germany and wonderfull
lady from Australia. All messages from these people are currently
unaccessable to me. Please recontact me if possible.
I am on a quest to find ferrets that are from: Italy, Germany, Austria,
Switzerland, or Slovinia. If anybody has proof of ferret life in any of
these countries please contact me and I will be forever in your debt.
Before I left an asociate that I had known for a year informed me that he
had two ferrets! I actually saw them for about 45min once. At the same
time I was contacted by Roberto who works right by where I live. Amazing!
Believe it or not the only proven living ferrets here in Italy are from
Florida.
The ferret supposidly was brought to Europe by the Romans from Egypt. The
keeping of ferrets by Legionairs to hunt small animals was looked upon by
their superiors as a good thing. Whell in this day and time there is not a
Italian ferret to be found in Italy, only imports from the States!
In the Ferret News Kiosk A Ferret association has been started in Berlin;
this is the only proof of native ferrets in Germany. I have read in the
FURO handbook that Ferrets were kept by the ladies of German Royality many
years ago. It seems that in both Italy and Germany that the ferret has
evaporated.
Good times to all
Chuck
