After dealing with 19 ferrets, a couple who lately have had their names
changed to Houdini Ferret, I have come up with a list of universal things
for those of us whose lives are ruled by ferrets.
Cardinal Rules of Ferret Ownership
1. If you are positive they can't fit into it, it is a given they can.
2. The more expensive the toy, the more they dislike it.
3. No matter the frequency of litter cleaning, they will go next to the box.
4. If you see them trying to go anywhere but the box and put them in it,
they don't have to go anymore.
5. The worse the food is for them the more they want it.
6. If one learns how to do something, they will teach the others.
7. If it is of vital importance to you, it will be stashed away.
8. Books do not belong on bookshelves.
9. If you teach them to do something, and they do it a hundred times for
you, the first time you try to show someone else they look at you like
you are crazy.
10. The most important rule--They are smarter than you are, admit it.
