This depends on several things, but there are legal approaches
to solving the problems in most cases you'll encounter.

The first question I have to ask is: Which state?

The odds are good that an address could be dug up for you to
get further information about your destination and your ferrets.

Yes, in many cases it is possible to ferret away a ferret under
the noses of the relevant authorities. But this can be a fast way
to lose the animal (and it possibly its life) if you are caught.
California, for instance, has a nasty reputation of shoot the animal
first then ask questions, even when the owner has proper papers from
the proper California authorities. (Note that this may well be my
own overreaction to events of several years gone by.)

If you post which state you are talking about to this list, I will
post whatever addresses I can dig up to help you get better information
for that state.
