I am seeking information to pass on to vets practicing on ferrets through
out the US.....

We are developing (when I say we, I mean the CDFA rescue vet and several
well known ferret vets) a theory, but we need some supporting data.

We need to know, of bilateral adrenal removals, how many have lost the
ferret 1 week to 10 days after the last surgery to what was autopsied and
found to be ulcers that suddenly flaired up from no where.

If you have any data or information on this, please contact me via e-mail
and I'll pass it on. The theory under consideration at this time, is to
routinely treat for ulcers post op of the second gland removal. There are
at least 3 known well cared for animals that have gone this way, autopsy
confirmed. So in addition to the tricky business of the right adrenal gland
removal the post side effect may be the ulcers.... It's really in the early
stages of investigation, so any info you can give us would be appreciated.
