Well .... since I never did manage to get a copy of the "Lord of the Dance"
ferret song that I was looking for ... I wrote my own! Here it is (with my
apologies to the Shakers):
LORD OF THE DOOKS
I dooked in the morning when the raisins were begun
I dooked in the moon, the stars and the sun
I dooked down from Heaven and I dooked on Earth
In Ferretone I found my mirth
Dook, then, wherever you may be
I am the Lord of the Dooks, said he
And I'll lead you all, wherever you may be
And I'll lead you all in the dooks, said he
I dooked for the rabbit and the cat, said he
They would not dook; they would not follow me
So I dooked for the owners, for Bill Gruber, too
They posted for me and the post came through
I danced in the plant and I took the blame
The ferret mommy said it was a shame
So she washed, she scrubbed, she held me high
And she used the blower to get me dry
I danced on a Friday, when Mom was late
She had to leave to go to work by eight
Oh she looked under the sofa to see where I had gone
But I and the dance were still going strong
She picked me up, but I leapt up high
I have a spirit that will never, never die
But I'll live in you if you'll live in Me
I am the Lord of the Dooks, said he
