IF YOU WANT FERRETS LEGALIZED IN CALIFORNIA, WE MUST SEE THIS RESOLUTION
PASS.
 
Jan Goldsmith, author of House Resolution 37 wants meetings held in each of
the 80 districts and for constituents to hand deliver a packet of
information on ferrets to the district address.  These meetings, and the
letters sent to each Assemblymember, are going to be critical to our success
so don't hesitate to become involved.  You need to make your voice heard.
Please contact me if you are willing to set up a meeting with your
Assemblymember, or his or her chief of staff, in your district.
 
Be pleasant but persistant when calling to set up the meeting.  Plan on
going with others if possible.  When you get a district meeting, you will
need a packet of information that my father has put together that contains
important documents about the absence of feral ferrets, the fact that
ferrets are domesticated, that DFG was never intended to regulate
domesticated species, etc.  These documents are letters from authoritative
sources such as the Smithsonian Institute, US Department of Agriculture,
Office of Technology Assesment etc., and are our ammunition against the
opposition.  Jan wants one of these packets presented at each district
meeting.
 
Call your Assemblyman's district office NOW for an appointment.  Our
committee hearing should be in early May, and the vote could go to the floor
immediately afterwards.  District meetings are held only on Friday's, so you
should call right away.  E-mail me, or write, for one of my father's packets
of information if you have a district meeting set up, and I'll send you one
for the meeting.
