I would give anything in the world not to have to be writing this post.

I wrote in Sunday's FML about Amelia's sudden illness-- to recap, she was
fine on Thurs am, Thurs early afternoon she vomited once, and Thurs evening
she vomited alot of liquid, smelled like bile. She showed much lethargy.
Stools fairly normal but small and somewhat mucus-y. We went to the vet on
Friday, where she was x-rayed. No blockages found. We went home with
Amoxil, to be administered daily for a week, and she received a fluid
injection to rehydrate her. Saturday she mostly slept, but Saturday night
she spent most of the night trying to throw up-- she did throw up what
appeared to be the Amoxil, five hours after it was administered-- but
produced almost nothing. At this point I don't think she had eaten since
Thurs afternoon, except for some Linatone. This morning as soon as the vet
opened I rushed her in, where she was immediately given fluid injection. At
this point she was extremely lethargic, and wouldn't drink on her own, even
if I dribbled water onto her lips. She is alive now, but the vet does not
give her good chances to make it until morning. The only blood work that
has been done was a glucose test, since the labs are closed today, and the
glucose was with in normal levels, despite the lack of food. I went back to
the vet's after closing hour to sit with Amelia for a bit, and with
encouragement she did actually drink on her own, just a little. To me, she
seemed better than she did last night, so I'm a bit more optimistic than the
vet, although I am very very sad and scared right now. What could be wrong
with her? She's only a year and about two-thirds, and has been perfectly
healthy her whole life. She's at the vet's now, and I'll get an update in
the morning. Any hypothesis gratefully accepted, although I realize this is
not very much information to go on.

Amelia is the linchpin in my emotional and mental health, and I don't know
what I would do without her.

ps thank you Gary for Timmy's recipe but I got it after hospitalizing
Amelia-- I'll keep it for reference though.
